This proposal is to give Chamber square, Tallaght 100 free-standing stools.

These stools are for anyone who wishes to use them, in whatever way they wish to use them. 100 Stools is a free architecture project for the people. The stools are a facilitator for use, they are intended to provoke and entice people to interact with them and the area. To melt the wall between the institutions and their neighbours, and act as a catalyst for participation in the square.

The design and shape of the stool are inherently robust. They can be stacked, turned, flipped, used alone or together to form structures. These come in two sizes “small” and large”. The stools welcome being used, misused, abused, overused, and underused. The form and arrangement of the stool collection in the square and beyond is a direct product of the desire of the users at any given moment.

The Significance of the number 100 refers to the number of days the stools will live in chamber square. 100  days  - a stool for every day. 16th September- 25th December. The Final day (Christmas day) is “Stool adoption day” where the stools will be adopted by members of the local community.
